EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) #tyler-tx – Below is a daily digest of the COVID-19 situation as reported or made available to KLTV and KTRE.
Friday, Sept. 11
Henderson ISD announced Friday, starting Monday, Sept. 14 through the following two weeks, the high school campus classes will move to online-learning. All other campuses remain in-person.
Thursday, Sept. 10
Henderson ISD has been informed of two additional students who have tested positive for COVID-19. One high school student was last on campus on September 3, 2020. Another high school student was last on campus on September 8, 2020. They also discovered two additional staff cases which were reported near the first of the year but have not been included in the total. This brings their total reported cases to 84 with 41 recoveries leaving 43 currently active cases in the district.
Wednesday, Sept. 9
Longview ISD reports two more students have tested positive for COVID-19. The students from Foster Middle School and East Texas Montessori Prep Academy passed the routine screening before arriving and wore a mask while on campus. The district was notified on Tuesday.
Timpson ISD reported on Facebook that multiple positive COVID-19 tests on Tuesday, the High School campus will move to remote learning Wednesday until further notice. Teachers will report to campus. The elementary and junior high will carry on as normal.
Tuesday, Sept. 8
Tatum ISD announced it was canceling its varsity and JV football games for the next two weeks due to an exposure to an individual infected with COVID-19.
Friday, Sept. 4
Longview ISD reports another student tested positive for COVID-19. The district was notified Friday. The student from Foster Middle School passed the routine screening before arriving and wore a mask while on campus.
Lufkin ISD currently reports via their COVID19 dashboard there are 272 students in quarantine today, as well as 17 staff members. There were two new positive cases reported today.
Thursday, Sept. 3
Longview ISD reports 3 more students have tested positive for COVID-19. The district was notified Monday of one student tested positive on Monday, Aug. 31, and was last on the Foster Middle School campus on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020. The district was notified Wednesday of a second student testing positive on Wednesday, Sept. 2 who was last on the J L Everheart campus on Monday. The district was notified Wednesday, of a third student testing positive on Tuesday, last on the Bramlette campus on Tuesday. The students passed the routine screening before arriving and wore masks while on campus.
Tenaha ISD has confirmation of four positive tests for Covid-19 among students and staff since school released due to Hurricane Laura. Three of the four positive tests have not been on campus within 7 days of the test result, and the fourth case was last on campus on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Tuesday, Sept. 1
Henderson ISD reports three students and one staff member have tested positive for COVID-19. One high school student was last on campus on Aug. 28, another high school student was last on campus on Aug. 31 and the third high school student was last on campus on Sept. 1. One employee was last on the high school campus on Aug. 31.
Marshall ISD reports one confirmed positive case at Marshall Junior High School Tuesday.
