Slow Sally Calls For Some Cornbread

#foodie-all – by Ellen Britt. Hey y’all…it’s Ellen again, the Ambassador for Atlanta News and Talk, bringing you some more yummy food info. 

Here in the Atlanta area, it looks like we are about to get deluged with several days of drenching rainfall as a result of the slow moving hurricane Sally, who is taking her sweet time sashaying up from the Gulf in our direction!

To our readers in the path of this storm, please stay safe. Looks like the main danger for most folks is going to be flash flooding, so be careful out there. Between the fires in the West and flooding in the East, we all need to be watchful.

I don’t know about you, but when I know we are in for several days of rainy, cooler weather, my thoughts turn to food that is warm and comforting. Something like a big pot of soup or chile simmering on the back of the stove with good Southern skillet cornbread cooking in the oven.

Nothing like your favorite soup or chili served with a big slice of hot cornbread warm from the oven and spread with some good grass fed butter or one of the delicious plant based alternatives, like Miyoko’s. 

We will be watching this storm. I’d better get cooking before the power goes out! Stay safe y’all…!
