Atlanta Photo of the Day September 23, 2020

#atlanta-ga Photo courtesy of Atlanta Hometown Ambassador, Ellen Britt. “After spending 17 long years underground, periodic cicadas emerged this summer in parts of Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia. For us Southerners, seeing these discarded  exoskeletons clinging to foilage is a familiar but always somewhat unsettling sight, as it’s difficult at first glance to tell whether the insect’s shell is alive or dead.”
