President Donald Trump’s hospitalization for coronavirus stretched into a third day on Sunday, with doctors set to provide a briefing on Trump’s health late Sunday morning.
On Saturday, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said his boss went through a “very concerning” period Friday. “We’re still not on a clear path yet to a full recovery,” Meadows said.
Trump remained at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Sunday, and offered his own assessment of his status Saturday evening in a video from his hospital suite, saying he was beginning to feel better and hoped to “be back soon.”
And he was back on social media early Sunday morning, sharing a video of flag-waving supporters gathered outside the hospital.
In an update Saturday night, Navy Cmdr. Dr. Sean Conley, Trump’s chief physician, expressed cautious optimism but added that the president was “not yet out of the woods.”
