A Gwinnett County road that was shut down for more than two hours Tuesday due to a gas leak has reopened, according to authorities.
Rockbridge Road was closed from Redwood Drive to Button Gwinnett after a crew digging underground cut a three-inch line about 10:30 a.m., according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
A hazardous materials team responded to the scene and residents in two homes were ordered to shelter in place. Atlanta Gas Light Co. fixed the leak just before 12:45 p.m., according to Gwinnett fire.
“There were no evacuations and no injuries reported,” the department said.
