Mesa police offer $20,000 reward for information on drive-by shooting that killed baby

The Mesa Police Department announced Monday night that a $20,000 reward is available for any information regarding the suspect or suspects responsible for Friday‚Äôs drive-by shooting that killed a one-year-old boy and injured six people, including children.

Mesa police has teamed up with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to offer a $10,000 reward each.

The suspect fired on a crowd of people at a food truck event near Dobson and Guadalupe roads in Mesa on Friday night before fleeing west on Guadalupe Road in a white Kia Soul or other box-shaped SUV, police said.

Four kids, ages 1, 6, 9 and 16, as well as three adults were left with gunshot wounds. The youngest victim, 1-year-old Sebastian Duran, died from his injuries Sunday afternoon, officials said in a statement.

Apart from naming the baby who died and offering a reward, Mesa police did not offer any new details on the shooting on Monday.
