A boil water advisory was issued for several East Point neighborhoods and businesses on Saturday following a water main break, city officials said.

The 12-inch main broke along Welcome All Road about 10 a.m., city spokeswoman Shannon Wiggins told AJC.com. As a result, a boil advisory is in effect for customers along Camp Creek Parkway, Welcome All Road and Old Fairburn Road.

City officials aren’t sure exactly how many customers are affected or how long the break may take to repair.

Emergency water tanks have been placed at the entrances of the Lakeside Preserve and Heritage Park subdivisions, the city said in a tweet.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are encouraged to boil their water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking or using it to prepare baby food.
